a mother of a weekend

So we made it back to arlington this weekend to spend a little time with both families for mothers day. This trip was mainly spent with Shannah's family. It was a nice visit filled with surprises!!!!, despite its short duration.
We made the 7 hour drive to arlington making a few stops along the way (including the Czech Kolache Stop on IH 35W; because shannah had always wanted to go there. Too bad it was not worth a life of anticipation. The kolache bakery in arlington (off cooper st.) is WAY better and cheaper). The women in Shannah's family went out to breakfast Sunday morning, all but aunt sherry was there. Apparently there has been a falling out... perhaps I will write more about that later. It is quite interesting. Every family has a crazy...
Phil was able to finish his 2 master's classes this weekend. He's gotten his grade back for his finance class. It was an A. His other class with the crazy teacher is a little behind on grading.
One the drive home we left about 5pm from Weatherford. Driving through a way we have never been before, gave us a couple U-turns and humbling moments to add interest to our drive. As shannah lay in the back trying to sleep off her pregnant sickness, Phil's bobbing and weaving animals became almost constant enough to rock her alseep (JK). Saydee was in the back, not enjoying this particular ride that seemed to drag on and on. As we dodged armidillos, oppossums, rabbits, and deer we came over a hill and couldn't avoid the family of 3.... Oh Deer... We hit a deer. Lucky for us it was the smallest of the three. Phil managed to slow down enough to cause minimal damage, I don't know about the deer, but it seemed to have made it off the road when shannah went looking back for it. We finally managed to make it back to base around 4 or 4:30 am... greeted by the front gate guy who pointed out our headlight that was busted... and our inspiration sticker that had recently expired... great... so now we have to fix the light before we can get that inspection done... and all of this to show our mommas how much we love them!!! haha fun!
